CJ's Kitchen & Grille: Explore Pensacola's Best American Breakfast & Brunch

Always a winner. I bring family and friends here when they visit. Real good food with excellent service. I have never had a bad meal here. I am hooked on their chicken wings and grits breakfast. It's all my sister-in-law will have for breakfast when she comes to town. I highly recommend this place.

Took my three kids to CJ’s Cafe on La Brea and overall we had a good experience. The food came out fast, about 10 minutes, and the service was really friendly. I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were slamming. The collard greens were okay, I added some hot sauce and that helped. The chicken was good, though one piece was very large and didn’t cook as evenly as the others. My kids had pancakes and chili cheese fries. The pancakes were good but a little small. My daughter said the chili cheese fries were the second best she’s ever had, and she’s 12, so that says something. For four people the bill was about $65 before tip, which felt reasonable. The restaurant itself was okay on cleanliness. The bathroom was decent and I didn’t mind my kids using it, but the place could definitely use a deeper cleaning. Booth space is also a little tight if you’re seating multiple people. I usually eat plant-based, but this was one of those meals where it was worth stepping outside that routine. It wasn’t a disappointment. If you’re looking for a casual spot on La Brea with decent food and quick service, CJ’s Cafe is worth trying. Not a critic, just sharing how it felt.

We stopped here on a rainy day not knowing what to expect. It was bustling like a restaurant you'd see in New York City! We were seated immediately even though the place was very full. Lots of activity and friendly faces everywhere. We got a fresh juice drinks and I ordered short ribs which were delicious. My son ordered machaca breakfast and loved it. We will definitely come back for the homestyle food when we are in the neighborhood.

This food was SO good. Came in pretty late for lunch and everything was fresh, hot and tasty! We ordered the catfish and fried chicken which were both fried great, service was pretty relaxed and prices were good too. My partner got the fresh juice and enjoyed that as well.

Great breakfast spot. Ordered the breakfast burrito filled with home fries, eggs, salsa, choice of meat, and ham. It was quite flavorful. We also ordered the egg white Denver omelette and grits that were amazing and very tasty. Service was friendly and the server was very attentive.

I've been a patron for years!!!!!! I usually eat in but sometimes, I get take out. I've tried almost everything on the menu. The wings used to be my go to with the waffle but I am now loving the fried Catfish with lemon drizzle. I get my potatoes with bell pepper and onions, grits, softly scrambled eggs and buttered sourdough toast. Everything hits! Coffee is delicious! Huge portions. I eat on my breakfast throughout my day. Very satisfying meal. Service is punctual, friendly and warm. Parking is ample. I appreciate what they've been bringing to my neighborhood.
